Is it sad that I spent my Saturday morning surrounding myself with my JewelMint pieces so I can mix and match them? I swear I’m usually more productive. I’ve never really spent the time to do this yet. I felt like a pimp! I am hoping that this exercise will help me maximize my use of my pieces. I call myself a timid mixer. It is my hope that one day I can pump the volume up a notch. Needless to say I had a lot of fun. I’ve never been *this* interested in costume Jewelry until JewelMint. I’m still waiting for my Bewitchmint bag and a couple other pieces which is why I decided to make this a two part post. I would love to know what your favorite JewelMint pairings are! I am officially adding JewelMixing to my list of hobbies :)

I really love the juxtaposition of a great coat with bare legs. Whenever the temperature is pleasantly cool during Spring and Fall, I say adieu to pants, leggings, and tights and exercise my right to bare legs with a good amount gusto. Thank goodness that today is one of those days. I am also wearing a couple of my favorite duos: a button-up shirt with a chunky necklace and pink and chambray. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far, have fun!

This past Saturday afternoon, Jason and I drove out to Madison to visit the newest member of Jason’s family, sweet little Aubrey Marie. She is so beautiful! Babies are really something, aren’t they? A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E. It was a bit chilly that day so I thought it would be the perfect time to test drive a couple of Ann Taylor goodies that I snagged during their recent 40% off sale. The first item is the Downtown Cape which is (unfortunately) mostly viscose and polyester so the regular price is way overpriced. Having said that, I really love its shape and with the 40% off plus an additional 30% off, I couldn’t resist. The other item is the Leopard Print Haircalf Perfect Pumps. It is gorgeous and comfortable, ’nuff said!

Thank you so much to everyone who entered my first giveaway! I really enjoyed reading your comments. The winner of the Setting Sun necklace, which I picked via random.org, is ckennedy9687 [at] yahoo [dot] com! The quote she shared, which I loved, is below. Congratulations! Please expect an email from me shortly :)

“There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads. Afraid. Confused. Without a roadmap. The choices we make in those moments can define the rest of our days. Of course, when faced with the unknown, most of us would rather turn around and go back. But once in awhile people push on to something better-something found just beyond the pain of going it alone and just beyond the bravery and courage it takes to let someone in. Or to give someone a second chance. Something beyond the quiet persistence of a dream. Because it’s only when you’re tested that you discover who you truly are. And it’s only when you’re tested that you discover who you can be. The person you want to be does exist, somewhere on the other side of hard work, faith and belief, and beyond heartache and fear of what lies ahead.”

Today I woke up to Joshua Radin’s Brand New Day. This song gives me that happy feeling, I love it! Lately I’ve been trying to identify the little and big things that make me happy and I surround myself (and my home) with them. Happy Sunday!
